Animal Husbandry Effluents
Often the liquid manure is difficult to manage in the storage pits. Crusts may form on the top of the manure pit and sediment under the slats reducing, in this way, the capacity of the pit. Furthermore, if the liquid manure is not uniform, it may require a much greater amount of energy for agitation, pumping out and transportation.
Thanks to SOP Bio-valorization of the liquid manure, it is possible to reduce agitation times, given that the liquid manure remains more fluid in the storage pits.
In the presence of crusts, the stimulation of the bacteria in the liquid manure allows them to dissolve the crust until it completely disappears in a few weeks/months.
Furthermore, a significant reduction in odor, ammonia emissions and Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane has been seen in liquid manure treated with SOP.
