SOP Lagoon
SOP® Lagoon is a powdered additive for the treatment of slurry from dairy cows, beef cattle, and calves. It keeps slurry fluid, reduces the formation of crusts and sediment, limits odor and gas emissions, and improves its fertilizing properties.

Instructions and Application Rates
Mix the product with water and pour it directly on the slats, in the pre-tank, or into the storage tank.
If it is not possible to apply SOP Lagoon directly into the storage tank, it is sufficient to apply it under the slats or in the pre-tanks; the product will naturally flow into the main tank together with the slurry.
If the slurry has floating crusts, it is recommended to use a tube to direct the product into the lower layers of the mass.
In these cases, it is advisable to close the discharge valves until a sufficient degree of fluidification is achieved.
If the product is being used for the first time, an activation phase is required.
Mix with slurry. Suitable for all types of crops.
Dosage
2 g per week for each animal contributing slurry to the tank, pre-tank, or slats.
Activation phase (first 4 weeks only):
In addition to the regular dosage, add 4 g per cubic meter of stored slurry per week.
For large volumes of slurry, SOP Lagoon Activator can be used for activation.

Results from studies conducted by the University of Milan and the University of California, Davis indicate that SOP Lagoon is the only additive in the world capable of simultaneously reducing ammonia and greenhouse gas emissions, including methane, nitrous oxide, and carbon dioxide, without causing nitrate accumulation in the slurry.
Scientific research published between 2019 and 2023 in collaboration with these universities confirmed that SOP Lagoon can reduce emissions by up to:

Since 2001, SOP has been supporting farmers in improving the health and productivity of their herds.
Many of them have been using SOP Lagoon for more than 10 years, consistently reporting positive results with no side effects.
I’ve been using SOP Lagoon for a while and noticed changes within a couple of weeks, when bubbles started forming in the slurry. Previously, when emptying the pit, we had to keep the tractor and pump running most of the time to mix. This time we mixed 50% less because there was no crust. The pit emptied completely, down to the bottom. With fewer solids, it emptied much faster, which made my contractor happy. There used to be sludge sticking to the walls, but now there’s none.
When I started using SOP Lagoon, there was a thick crust on the slurry that took about 10 hours to mix. After a couple of months, it only took one hour.
Before using SOP Lagoon, we had trouble mixing the lagoon completely, sometimes stirring for 4 hours or more. In autumn we decided to use SOP Lagoon, with fantastic results. By spring, the lagoon had no crust, and after a short mixing, the slurry was ready to spread. SOP Lagoon is easy to use, and we’ll definitely keep using it.
From our experience with SOP Lagoon in Canada, our customers report over 60% less time needed for agitation once the slurry is properly activated. Other benefits include a noticeable reduction in flies and odors. We’ve also observed differences in crops fertilized with slurry treated with SOP Lagoon compared to untreated fields, which proves its value as a fertilizer enhancer.
We have reduced gas emissions into the atmosphere, which means fewer unpleasant odors during storage and spreading.
Even in the storage tank, less crust forms, and the solid part dissolves more easily.
