Sustainable Intensive Farming
The world population is rapidly increasing and soon there will be 9 billion people requiring an ever-increasing amount of food. Already today, over 25% of the planet’s dry land is seriously damaged from the use of fertilizers and pesticides and, over the last 40 years, a third of the Earth’s cultivatable land has become infertile. Furthermore, climate change is making it harder for the crops and global economic politics are stretching farmers to their limits.
The #2050challenge has highlighted how the model in which sustainability has always been seen in contraposition to intensive farming needs to be completed reevaluated.
SOP Save Our Planet, brings an innovative approach to the field that combines sustainable development with farm turnover, bringing benefits to the three aspects which real sustainability can and must regard: economic, environmental and social.
