During the International Livestock Fair in Cremona, on Friday, November 29, the conference titled “From Obligation to Opportunity: Shared Solutions with Institutions for Managing Manure and Fertilization to Have a Positive Impact on the Environment, the Community, and Your Business” was held, moderated by Alessandro Fantini, director of the Ruminantia magazine.
The conference marked an important step in the dialogue with regional institutions, aimed at recognizing the centrality of innovative solutions for reducing pollutant and climate-altering gas emissions in the livestock and agricultural sectors. The goal, reiterated by the speakers, is to encourage the recognition and adoption of innovative, scalable, and scientifically validated solutions that allow farms to reduce their environmental impact, thus preserving the central and irreplaceable role that this sector plays in the regional and national economy.
A Constructive and Concrete Dialogue
The discussion was concrete and promising, with a fruitful exchange of ideas and positions between the speakers. The two regional councilors of the Agriculture Commission, Matteo Piloni and Marcello Ventura, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the agro-livestock sector in the green transition, recognizing the importance of adopting innovative and sustainable solutions, including the natural additive SOP Lagoon, to mitigate the environmental impact of the livestock sector.
The natural additive SOP Lagoon, whose effectiveness has already been validated by international scientific publications, reaffirms itself as a concrete, safe, and immediately available response, capable of effectively meeting the needs of environmental, social, and economic sustainability, providing farms with a tool to improve their competitiveness and profitability.
This additive is alongside other SOP solutions, such as the COCUS line for forage crops, which helps reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, as shown by the results of another scientific study presented by Dr. Chiodini, assisting farms in aligning with the European Directives.
The conference concluded with a twofold positive result: on the one hand, the confirmation of the commitment of the Lombardy Region to promote new sustainable solutions for manure management on farms; on the other, the promise to recognize and reward the efforts of virtuous farmers, acknowledging their commitment to adopting more environmentally friendly practices.
A special thanks to all the speakers, to Ruminantia, to the Lombardy Region, to the University of Milan and to the University of California, Davis, for making this possible and for their commitment, alongside us, to a more sustainable future for the agro-livestock sector.
